Crème de la crème

There’s never been a better time to be Carey Price.

Home, Sweet Home

If Torrey Mitchell was happy to return home last March, he was doubly so when given an opportunity to extend his stay in Montreal for a few more years.

End of an Era

When the partnership between the Montreal Canadiens and Hamilton Bulldogs came to a close in April, it marked the end of over a decade of unforgettable memories.

Tattoos and Tailgates with Chuck Hughes

It makes sense that if you’re going to ask a celebrity chef to prepare dishes to enjoy while watching a Canadiens game, you connect with a guy whose initials are “C.H.”. Watch Chuck Hughes on TV and it’s obvious the Montreal native knows his way around a kitchen; not only can he chop, sauté and braise with the best of them, but he can also hold his own on the ice. When he’s not busy running two of Montreal’s hottest eateries, Garde Manger andLe Bremner, there’s a good chance Hughes can be found at the Bell Centre taking in a Habs game. An expert in all things culinary and Canadiens, it was only natural to have the inked-up gourmand create some customized specials that any Habs fan with access to an oven could whip up and share, tailgate-style while watching the Habs run up the score.

On the Rise – Nikita Scherbak

Nikita. It’s a name that can stir up imagery of the 1990 Luc Besson film, or memories of Khrushchev, the Russian politician who led the Soviet Union during part of the Cold War. But for hockey fans in Montreal, these days, the name is more likely to represent a potential piece of the Canadiens’ future; namely, Scherbak. Nikita Scherbak.

Like a Boss

Having grown up at the Forum alongside some of the greatest players to ever don the bleu-blanc-rouge while enjoying a front row seat for some of the most exciting moments in Canadiens history, Geoff Molson understands what it’s like to be a die-hard Habs fan. Whether he’s in his office at the Bell Centre or in his usual seats behind the bench, the Canadiens owner and president lives and breathes hockey, 365 days a year. With a lifetime of stories at his disposal, we thought the big boss would be the perfect person to share some of his favorite memories about his childhood team. No question is too big or too small for the man at the top!

Got a question for Geoff? With luck, the man himself just might answer it. Send your question today to letters@canadiens.com and it could end up featured in an upcoming issue.

The Last Word: Thurman Thomas

When fans look back on the 1990s era of Buffalo Bills football, a decade that saw the team participate in the Super Bowl in four consecutive seasons, one of the first names that comes to mind is Thurman Thomas. Racking up yards and touchdowns with ease over his 13 NFL campaigns, the Texas native broke numerous records during his time in the league, eventually earning a spot in the Pro Football Hall of Fame in 2007. We sat down with the 49-year-old former running back to learn a little bit about his passion for his second-favorite sport.
