The Real Andrei
Think you truly know Andrei Markov? Chances are you only know half the story.
Ahead of his inaugural season in Montreal, Zack Kassian realizes he'll only get one chance to make a first impression.
The foundation of the Canadiens organization has long been built on the importance of family. That tradition has taken a whole new meaning in the Habs dressing room of late.
Tattoos and Tailgates with Chuck Hughes
It makes sense that if you’re going to ask a celebrity chef to prepare dishes to enjoy while watching a Canadiens game, you connect with a guy whose initials are “C.H.”. Watch Chuck Hughes on TV and it’s obvious the Montreal native knows his way around a kitchen; not only can he chop, sauté and braise with the best of them, but he can also hold his own on the ice. When he’s not busy running two of Montreal’s hottest eateries, Garde Manger andLe Bremner, there’s a good chance Hughes can be found at the Bell Centre taking in a Habs game. An expert in all things culinary and Canadiens, it was only natural to have the inked-up gourmand create some customized specials that any Habs fan with access to an oven could whip up and share, tailgate-style while watching the Habs run up the score.
On the Rise – Brett Lernout
When you’re blessed with a physique like Habs prospect Brett Lernout’s, it’s best to use your size to your advantage. That’s exactly what goes through the 6-foot-4 defenseman’s mind every time he hits the ice in his attempt to emulate one of the most dominant blue-liners of the 2000s.
Like a Boss
Having grown up at the Forum alongside some of the greatest players to ever don the bleu-blanc-rouge while enjoying a front row seat for some of the most exciting moments in Canadiens history, Geoff Molson understands what it’s like to be a die-hard Habs fan. Whether he’s in his office at the Bell Centre or in his usual seats behind the bench, the Canadiens owner and president lives and breathes hockey, 365 days a year. With a lifetime of stories at his disposal, we thought the big boss would be the perfect person to share some of his favorite memories about his childhood team. No question is too big or too small for the man at the top!
Got a question for Geoff? With luck, the man himself just might answer it. Send your question today to firstname.lastname@example.org and it could end up featured in an upcoming issue.
The Last Word: Kevin Owens
After 15 arduous years of competing and perfecting his skills in the world of amateur wrestling, Kevin Steen – better known these days as Kevin Owens – has finally realized his childhood dream of reaching the WWE, where he has quickly emerged as a superstar on the rise. As nimble with a microphone as he is in the ring, the Marieville native has taken the WWE by storm, earning high praise from many of the industry’s legends in his short time with the promotion. We sat down with the 31-year-old Quebecer to find out how he ended up finding his passion in the ring instead of the rink.
